By next week I'll had my new computer for exactly a year, but still don't know how get the most out of it. I'm one of those people can switch the thing on and type, but my knowledge stops there. The more symbols I see telling me about all the wonderful things I should be able to do, more useless I feel. I know it's my fault. I have done a course when I was at school. But at the time I thought it was something I could teach myself. I must have crazy!
So when I saw the advert the course, I immediately applied to do it. It looked if it had been designed for me personally! It promised teach you all the computer skills I knew I lacked. I turned early on the first day, full of enthusiasm. We were shown a large room where there were at least fifty computers, enough for person to have their own. I sat down and waited for the teacher to appear. After a while I realized that
except me was already typing away. I looked at the screen and it said, “Welcome to the course. I am your personal tutor. Press any key to continue.” So that was it. There was teacher to sympathetically explain to me I was doing wrong. Just another screen full of symbols for me to get lost in. If I'd known that it was going to be like that, I never have done the course!
